Acid Birds is the free-improv/psychedelic project of Jaime Fennelly (Peeesseye), Andrew Barker (Gold Sparkle Band, Hallux), and Charles Waters (Gold Sparkle Band). Exploring cosmic tones of low-end harmonium drones over bass clarinet/alto saxophone squeals and a drum kit that features a five-foot wide tabletop as a cymbal, Acid Birds reach a territory where most psychedelic ensembles don’t have the musical knowledge to explore.
Mock Load, their debut CS release, calls on the spirits of saxophone based fire music a la Albert Ayler, kosmische tonal territory, and even reachs into walls of industrial noise.
